Help Make A Difference in the Canton Community

This year on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, Canton Leisure Services is participating in #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving that is fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Annually celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and tax-deductible, end-of-year giving.

Once again, Leisure Services is shining the spotlight on youth programming in our community. Area residents are invited to support this giving campaign by donating to one, or all of these programs that positively impact local kids:

Lead #LikeAGirl Scholarship Fund

An award-winning leadership program through the B.L.O.C.K. Youth and Teen Center that aims to inspire at-risk young women, ages 11-16, to rethink what it means to lead and live #LikeAGirl. The fund awards a college scholarship annually to a graduate of the program. Donate today or on #Giving Tuesday!

Canton Youth Advisory Council Fund

An influential group of high school students who truly make a difference in their community. Members participate in community service projects, lead special events, and participate in local decision making. The fund allows youth members to annually grant money to other organizations that benefit Canton youth. Donate Today or on #GivingTuesday!

Camp A.B.L.E.

Canton Leisure Services is committed to an inclusive approach to recreation, which allows for individuals with disabilities to participate in programs and activities as fully as possible. The Camp A.B.L.E. Fund supports this award-winning adaptive, but traditional, summer camp experience for children with special needs between the ages of 8-15. Donate today or on #GivingTuesday!
