Volunteer Opportunity And Responsibilities

Name of Event:  Liberty Fest Beer and Wine Garden

Event Date:  Thursday, June 13
Shift Times:  4-7 p.m. and 7-10 p.m.  

Event Date: Friday, June 14
Shift Times:   4-7 p.m. and 7-11 p.m.

Event Date:  Saturday, June 15
Shift Times:  10 a.m.–1 p.m., 1-4 p.m., 4-7 p.m., and 7-11 p.m.

Location: Heritage Park, 1150 S. Canton Center Road, Canton MI 48188

Brief Description of Event: The Canton Rotary Club and the Canton Optimist Club will hosting the Adult Beverage Tent featuring beer and wine.  This fundraiser supports many community projects, including First Step and Salvation Army.

Type of tasks volunteers will be asked to do: Volunteers must be 21 years of age or older to participate. 

  • Check ID’s and sell tickets
  • Sell water
  • Clear tables
  • Pour beverages

Attire: Volunteers working the event are asked to wear khaki or jean shorts/pants, close toed shoes. A volunteer shirt will be provided at the Volunteer Training.

Special Instructions: All volunteers are required to attend a mandatory Liberty Fest Volunteer Training. Training will be offered at the Canton Administration Building - Freedom Room, located at 1150 S. Canton Center Rd. Training dates and times to choose from:

  • Monday, June 10, 6-7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, June 11, 10–11 a.m.

Applications & Information

Volunteer Training

Canton Township volunteers are required to attend training a minimum of one time per year. The training provides volunteers with information about upcoming events, customer service, and emergency preparedness. All registered volunteers will be emailed of upcoming volunteer training dates.

Meals on Wheels and Pheasant Run Golf Club Volunteers

For positions requiring driving, volunteers must submit a Michigan Driving Record Check form, in addition to the Volunteer Application for Adults. Please complete sections 3 and 5.

Scholarship Opportunities

Canton residents who have lived in the Canton community for 2 or more years are eligible to apply for a Canton Leisure Services Scholarship that can be applied towards Leisure Services classes and programs. Recipients can receive up to $400 per family in a year and are required to provide 1 hour of community service for every $20 awarded.
