Canton Leisure Services is a proud provider of family events and activities, as well as health and wellness, and additional recreational opportunities for the community. In response to the global health crisis and the inevitable changes to classes and programs, we have decided to not publish a Fall and Winter Discover Brochure activity guide. Instead, the department will be utilizing this website, our Facebook pages, and our e-newsletters to help bring more current program offerings and updates to Canton. These virtual marketing tools will help us continue to roll out new program opportunities, better update residents regarding cancellations, or postponements, and will ultimately enable us to better connect with the community in real time.

Important Program Location Information
PLEASE NOTE: As of November 18, Canton Leisure Services to modify programs impacted by "Pause To Save Lives" order. Click to learn complete details.
The Summit on the Park and Heritage Park have served as safe spaces for the community to come together. We are excited to welcome you back as we relaunch program efforts centered in these outdoor campus locations while some of our more traditional spaces remain closed for now. Parking lots will become yoga studios. Tents will become classrooms. Parks will become Teen Centers. Our programs may not look exactly the same, but our hearts are still in it…And while we might stand 6-feet apart, there’s so much fun we can still have together!
Heritage Park Amphitheater
Located in Heritage Park just west of the Canton Administration Building 1150 S. Canton Center Road.
the Summit Community Courtyard
Located on the campus of the Summit on the Park 46000 Summit Parkway, instructors will begin utilizing the west parking lot, outdoor tents, and patio locations to host a variety of outdoor programming while seasons and weather permits. The newly named "Summit Community Courtyard" will utilize the Canton Live Stage and creative use of other adjacent outdoor spaces to welcome residents back home to the Summit for their recreation and fitness needs.
Summit on the Park
Located at 46000 Summit Parkway, indoor classes will have designated space to allow for physical distancing and equipment.
- Pre-registration for classes is required.
- Face masks are required at all times when indoors at the Summit on the Park; this includes while working out.
- Yoga mats and stretching mats will not be provided, please bring your own for floor work and mind-body classes.

Q. How do I find out what programs are being offered and when to register?
A. There are a few easy ways:
- Click on the "STAY CONNECTED" box in the menu below to subscribe to our email newsletters, reminders, and updates
- Follow Canton Leisure Services and the Summit on the Park on Facebook
Program registration dates may vary by program area.
Q. What happens if an event is quickly sold out?
A. If there is a wait list available, be sure to put your name on it. This will help us better assess the demand and potentially identify additional dates/times to offer a similar opportunity.
Q. Are face coverings required for in-person program participation?
A. For many in-person programs, they are a requirement. For most outdoor fitness programs, they are only required during check-in. Any time that proper physical distancing cannot be maintained during a program, masks will be required. Be sure to check each program description and receipt notes for detailed instructions.
Q. What happens if inclement weather affects outdoor in-person programs?
A. As a Michigander we know that this is certainly always a possibility. To remain informed about your scheduled class or program, be sure to opt into text messaging updates and notifications upon registration. You will need to include your mobile carrier at that time in order for this to work.
Additionally, weather-related program posts will also be shared on the Summit on the Park, Canton Leisure Services, B.L.O.C.K. Youth & Teen Center, and Canton Club 55+, and Canton Therapeutic Recreation Facebook pages, depending on the nature of the activity.
Q. What happens if I need to cancel or suddenly can't attend a program or event that I'm registered for?
A. In order to receive a full refund, you must request to withdrawal from a program more than 24 hours before the start time. Please understand that after a third occurrence of withdrawing with less than 24 hours notice, this may prohibit you from registering from future programming.
You can find the CLS Program Withdrawal Form Here.
Q. I have some questions or concerns that have not been addressed in the FAQs. How else can I find some answers?
A. Please email us at leisure@canton-mi.org or call our program hotline at 734/394-5430. Employee schedules may vary. Please keep in mind that while responses may not be immediate, they will be timely. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
