FINANCIAL BENEFITS
Canton Police Officers earn a competitive 2023 salary, ranging from $56,855 (starting rate) up to $96,268 (after 4 years). 

Lateral Transfer Police Officer Pay:

  • 0-12 Months @ Starting Rate
  • 13-24 Months @ 2-Year Rate
  • 25-36 Months @ 3-Year Rate
  • 37-48 Months @ 4-Year Rate

The Canton Police Department is a full-time law enforcement agency currently budgeted for 100 sworn officers, with plans to increase staffing over the next several years. Canton is a community-oriented agency, providing professional police service beyond traditional enforcement.

Facilities

The Police Department is located in the Canton Public Safety Headquarters building, a 33,000 square foot facility that houses a premier 911 communications center, booking area, eight cell lock-up for up to 72-hour holds, investigations bureau, and administrative offices.

Canton Police Department also owns a gun range facility with outdoor targets, indoor simulation building, and classroom facility.
